Private individuals / Self-employed / Farmers
Deadline extension to July 15:
- Online: Toll Free
- Written (e-mail, letter), telephone, counter: CHF 20
Deadline extension to September 15:
- Online: CHF 20
- Written (e-mail, letter), telephone, counter: CHF 40
Deadline extension to November 15:
- Online: CHF 40
- Written (e-mail, letter), telephone, counter: CHF 60
Extension of the deadline for virtual tax subjects (partnerships, communities of heirs and co-owners, etc.):
- Online: free of charge
- Written (e-mail, letter), telephone, counter: free of charge
Extend deadline as a legal entity
Legal entities such as corporations, cooperatives, associations, foundations and other legal entities may file an extension of time until no later than 3½ months after the filing deadline or 10½ months after the close of business.
You must request the extension online or in writing before the printed deadline .
Extend deadline in writing
Requests for an extension of the deadline can be submitted in writing either by letter or by e-mail. Send your request to the address printed on the tax return.
No extensions of time limits can be recorded bytelephone .
Deadlines and extensions
Regular submission deadline 7 months after closing:
- Example: Closing at the end of the year: Deadline for submission is 31.07. of the following calendar year.
- Fees online: CHF 0
- Fees in writing: CHF 0
Extension of time + 1 1/2 months (maximum):
- Example: Closing at the end of the year. 7 months plus 1 1/2 months --> Deadline for submission is 15.09. of the following calendar year.
- Fees online: CHF 0
- Fees in writing: CHF 20
Extension of time limit + 3 1/2 months at the latest:
- Example: Closing at the end of the year. 7 months plus 3 1/2 months--> Deadline for submission is 15.11. of the following calendar year.
- Fees online: CHF 20
- Fees in writing: CHF 40
Note
The fee is invoiced in the final statement. It is worth submitting your tax return in good time or applying for an extension of the deadline in good time. You save the reminder fee.
Legal entities domiciled outside the Canton of Berne do not require an extension of the deadline.
